What is myopia?

Myopia is a refractive defect that causes poor distance vision. It generally appears between 5 and 16 years of age and tends to increase during the child’s growth phase, stabilizing around 18 years of age.

Increased time spent in front of screens and decreased time spent outdoors were associated with an increased likelihood of myopia episodes.

Can myopia be managed?

The answer is yes.

Today, through careful protocol and the use of an eyeglass with the new horizontally progressive YoungLens perifocal lenses, excellent results can be achieved.

Clinically Proven

The study consisted of monitoring myopia progression in a group of 94 children aged 7 to 14 years who were asked to wear YoungLens lenses full time compared with a control group of children of similar age wearing standard monofocal lenses.

Progression of myopia (spherical equivalent and axial length) was assessed after 6 months, 12-18 months, 2 years, 3 years, and 4-5 years from the start of spectacle use.
