The Free Form 360 family of lenses represents the most advanced solution offered by Roman Optica in the field of monofocal lenses.
Its custom aspheric/atoric geometry design was created with the aim of overcoming the limitations of traditional aspheric lenses, the only optical means so far available to try to correct Oblique Beam Distortion and Astigmatism.
As is well known, of all the optical aberrations, Oblique Beam Distortion and Astigmatism are the only ones that are really attempted to be corrected in ophthalmic applications, given their heavy impact in peripheral vision.
Free Form technology provides a highly functional answer to these problems by easily materializing surfaces of any geometry on the lens.
In the case of Moon 360 lenses, the design software performs a dual function. First, it provides the most balanced correction of the lens' inherent aberrations with each type of prescription, always providing the optimal solution for any combination of sphere and cylinder.
