Tips to make contact lenses more comfortable
Since they invented them, it has been impossible to do without them.
Contact lenses – daily, biweekly, monthly or quarterly – are suitable for everyone, everyone can benefit from the relief they are able to offer to the eyes. Comfortable contact lenses are in fact synonymous with personal well-being and serenity, essential elements to face any everyday situation.
These are medical devices that are characterized by a particular shape, i.e. a transparent cap, to be placed directly on the eye: they are able to correct most vision defects such as myopia, astigmatism or hyperopia. All this, however, provided that you can overcome the initial ‘obstacle’, represented by their direct application on the ocular surface: a gesture that, before becoming automatic, requires you to develop a certain dexterity and confidence.
Wearing contact lenses allows you to get rid of glasses and, consequently, allows you to change your habits as well as – it must be said – your point of view. But the change is never definitive and, as the years go by, the eyes continue to require different and specific treatments from time to time.
It is always possible to identify contact lenses that are comfortable for your eyes: these devices should never cause discomfort, such as dryness, but if not, you need to intervene immediately. In the particular case of dryness , the so-calledartificial tears can be used to find quick relief, but when this disorder becomes constant, other evaluations must be made. There are some tips on contact lenses that you can follow to be able to deal with the small big discomforts of everyday life.
The rules to understand when it’s time to change
To understand when you need to intervene on your contact lenses, in order to ensure a more comfortable experience, you must first evaluate a number of aspects.
Starting with habits during working hours (and the type of environment), the change in age and even the use of particular cosmetics. If the working days get longer and fuller – with an increase in stress – the eyes are the first to suffer. Just as they are susceptible and vulnerable to the strain of constantly standing in front of the bright computer screen, perhaps in a dry or dusty environment.
It’s time to check the lenses, thinking not only about the brand but above all about the turnover period (from monthly to bi-weekly, for example). Time passes and the eyes get tired, so when – perhaps reading texts – you perceive a difficulty or fatigue, it will be necessary to undergo an eye test (generally to be done every two years) and proceed with a check of the contact lenses, in order to make sure they are of the most suitable model.
Make-up and cosmetics are also part of our daily habits: changing them could have consequences on contact lenses, with allergic repercussions related to particular compositions or even exceeding the expiration date.
Technology is now able to calibrate any model according to the specific needs of the eyes: very often it will be sufficient to move towards a different brand of lenses.
